What Roamly is

Roamly is a free browser-based multiplayer world where you walk a small pixel-art map and chat with whoever is nearby. There is no account, no email, and no download — you pick your birth year, the server hands you a nickname and an avatar, and you are in. Open to ages 16 and up.

  • Free. There is no paid tier, no trial, and nothing to buy.
  • No account — no email address, no password, no username to choose.
  • Runs in the browser on desktop and mobile. Nothing to download or install.
  • Open to ages 16 and up. You enter a birth year before you can join.
  • The server assigns your nickname automatically, in the shape blue_ninja_726.
  • The server also assigns your avatar, at random, from a pool of eight.
  • Two chat channels: Room reaches everyone in your instance, Nearby reaches players within six tiles.
  • Chat is never written to disk. Messages exist only in memory, and only while they are being delivered.
  • Each instance of the world holds up to 50 players. A full world spawns another copy of itself.
  • Six landmarks to gather at: Campfire, Dance Floor, Cliff Lookout, Waterfall Lake, Market Square and Sea View.
